The original Church of St Peter is located just next to the Taff Ely Ridgeway on the hill behind Brynna and Llanharan. It was replaced in the 19th century by the current St Peter’s church. The font from the original church was moved to the current church when it was opened. Many rumours have persisted about St Peter’s being the resting place of King Arthur which led to a contentious archaeological dig in 1990 and subsequent books.
